Launching his career, “This Side of Paradise” was Fitzgerald’s first published novel.
Today in 1920, young writer F. Scott Fitzgerald publishes his first novel moving him into the spotlight. Born in St. Paul Minnesota to a wealth filled family, Fitzgerald was sent right off to New Jersey for boarding school in 1911. While in New Jersey, Fitzgerald would attend Princeton University two years later. Fitzgerald would later go on to write This Side of Paradise, becoming the youngest author ever published by Scribner’s.
